Blocks Group with an award from the competition “Building of the Year 2022”

A few days ago, Blocks Group was awarded a prize in the prestigious national competition “Building of the Year 2022”. The recognition in the category “Social Infrastructure – Healthcare” was awarded to the newly opened Rehabilitation and Continuing Care Hospital. The project was evaluated by the 33-member jury of the competition chaired by Prof. Dr. Arch. Georgi Stanishev, and the prize was awarded to the founder and CEO of Blocks Mr. Ilian Grigorov during the official ceremony in Sofia Event Center.

“On behalf of our entire team, I would like to thank the esteemed jury for their recognition. We are extremely happy and proud of what we have achieved in such a short time. I am confident that with the quality implementation of the hospital we have laid a solid foundation for the success of our activities in the health and social sector,” said Mr. Ilian Grigorov.

The conceptual design of the rehabilitation hospital has been developed by the leading architectural studio for healthcare facilities – HKS Architects. On the Bulgarian side, the team of Proarch AD, headed by arch. Ilia Evrev, who further developed the project at conceptual and technical level. An important role in the development of the concept was also played by the partnership with the most prestigious rehabilitation centre in the world – ShirleyRyanAbility Lab, the number 1 in the USA for the last three decades and with the largest research budget in the world in this field.

The hospital is built according to all world standards and is among the most modern in Europe. Located at the foot of Vitosha Mountain on an area of 14 000 sq.m., the hospital includes an inpatient ward with 100 beds distributed in 54 single and double rooms, an outpatient centre with 17 offices, 6 rehabilitation rooms and rooms for hydro procedures. In addition to comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation for children and adults, the hospital also offers early rehabilitation for inpatients after active treatment.
