In some cases, infection with COVID-19 may be mild, with only a cold, cough, or no symptoms at all. However, despite the lack of symptoms, complications in the body are not excluded, which can be identified by examining several key indicators. They indicate inflammatory processes in the body, damage or altered function of organs such as liver, gall bladder, kidneys and can give an overall assessment of the health of the body.

When to test yourselves?

People with confirmed COVID-19 can infect others even after their symptoms have subsided and they feel much better – so they should not break their quarantine before it expires. The average time from beginning to clinical recovery for mild cases is approximately 2 weeks, while the heavier ones take between 3 and 6 weeks. After this period, it is recommended to perform the tests included in the package “After COVID-19”.

Anti SARS-COV2-IgG is a serological test to detect specific IgG antibodies produced by the human body in response to infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The antibodies indicate that a person has been in contact with SARS-CoV-2, regardless of whether they have symptoms or are asymptomatic.

Complete blood count (CBC) with differential count (DC) – The test is performed to determine if there is an infection. CBC monitors blood cell types, leukocytes, erythrocytes, platelets and hemoglobin level. DC determined the exact number of individual types of leukocytes. Each type is indicative of the presence or absence of a pathological process.

C-reactive protein (CRP) is a protein synthesized by the liver in the presence of inflammation. It is used as a reliable marker of inflammation in the body.

Aspartate aminotransferase (ASAT) is an enzyme belonging to the group of transaminases. It is used in the diagnosis and follow-up of liver diseases.

Alanine aminotransferase (ALAT) is an enzyme that belongs to the group of aminotransferases. It is found mainly in liver cells and smaller amounts in the kidneys, myocardium and skeletal muscles. ALAT is used in the diagnosis of acute viral hepatitis, the diagnosis of diseases of the liver and biliary tract, the diagnosis of diseases of the pancreas.

GGT enzyme, which is found mainly in the kidneys, liver, pancreas and to a lesser extent in other tissues. The test is prescribed for acute and chronic liver damage, jaundice, liver cirrhosis, gallstone disease, disease of the biliary system.

Lectate dehydrogenase (LDH) is an intracellular enzyme important for energy production in almost all cells of the body. The highest concentrations are found in the heart, liver, muscles, kidneys and lungs.

Ferritin is an iron containing protein found in the cells of the liver and immune system. It stores inactive iron in the body and releases it when needed. Ferritin testing aims to determine the amount of iron stored in the body and helps diagnose a number of diseases.

Creatinine is excreted by the kidneys in the urine, and its level in the blood is one of the most important indicators of renal function. Deterioration of renal function is characterized by an increase in creatinine levels.
